Material:
Polypropylene (PP) – Lightweight, floats on water, and resists moisture, mildew, and chemicals.
UV-treated options available for prolonged outdoor/marine use.
Less expensive than nylon or polyester but with lower strength and abrasion resistance.
Construction:
3-strand twisted design – Traditional, flexible, and easy to splice.
Good knot-holding ability but can fray if cut improperly.
Advantages:
Floats on water – Ideal for rescue lines, fishing nets, and water sports.
Chemically inert – Resistant to oils, acids, and alkalis.
Cost-effective – Cheaper than nylon/polyester, suitable for disposable or low-tension uses.
Limitations:
Lower melting point (~160°C) – Not suitable for high-heat environments.
Stretches less than nylon – Poor shock absorption.
UV degradation – Requires treatment for long-term sun exposure.
